This is a great car seat and I was even more pleased to purchase as it said it was made in USA. The seat may be, but when removing the cushions to wash, the cover and straps say made in China. To adjust the height as your child grows, you simply grip the metal bar behind the seat and notch it to the next highest setting. The seat can be reclined as well. I particularly liked the cushions on the straps. Usually I remove these as they never fit well, but these work quite nicely and are not too bulky.
A few notes on the cover: relatively easy to remove. Unhook the straps in the back first then the main seat cover is attached with elastic and by threading around flat plastic caps on the seat bottom. There is a second cover on the back which is attached using elastic pockets and can be simply slipped off. Besides unhooking the straps, I cannot imagine why you should need to take apart any of the seat or cut any part of it.

This is an awesome car seat and my child looks so comforable in it! I don't see why there are negative reviews, cause for around $100 (depending on the color you choose) this is a great product! Everything is so easy to adjust. Haven't used the reclining feature (my son doesn't really sleep in the car), but I'm sure it will come in handy when I do.

The seat is great in the car. My 2 year old son rides in it everyday and loves it. It fits nicely in the car, although it's not the most easy to install. Once it's in though, you're good to go... until you need to clean it.
My son got sick in the seat and I thought my husband was going to end up just throwing the seat away. The cover does come off but you have to take the whole thing apart, including the seat off the base. You have to weave the straps through things and it is complicated. I think he ended up rinsing the base while he was washing himself. In other words, it's great but not puke friendly what so ever!
